Benefits of Vitamin D as an Anti-cancer, Many studies
have proven the health benefits of vitamin D at this time for thousands of
years. This includes a reduced risk of approximately 16% of different cancers,
including the pancreas, lungs, ovaries, breasts, prostate, and skin cancers. There
are more than 800 references in the medical literature demonstrating the
effectiveness of vitamin D against cancer alone, and the evidence
suggests this
reduction is approximately 50 percent. One study in Canada found that women who
reported having the most sun exposure as a teenager and young adults should be
close to a 70 percent decrease in risk of developing breast cancer.Another
study published in 2013 found women whose serum levels of vitamin D were under
ten ng/ml had six times the risk of breast cancer compared to those whose
levels were above 20 ng/ml.
A 2014 study,
which was seen in Iranian women, found an increase of 1,000 percent in the risk
of breast cancer among those who covered themselves completely. So do not get
sun exposure! From my perspective, it was crazy not to take advantage of this
natural cancer prevention strategy for fear of skin cancer. Dr. William Grant
Sunlight, nutrition, and Health Research Center (SUNARC) estimate that if
everyone in the US has a vitamin D level of 40 nanograms per milliliter
(ng/ml), it will save about 150,000 undergoing a year. 11, that's 100 times the
level of squamous cell cancer, which is the only definitive type of skin cancer
related to chronic UV exposure.
Current
recommendations put hundreds of thousands of people at higher risk for internal
cancer, as opposed to 10,000 people who died of skin cancers caused by sunburn.
Not only that, but vitamin D is also known to provide many other health
benefits, all of which happen if you completely distance yourself from exposure
to sunlight. For example, vitamin D can help improve health as follows:
• Immune
function
• Kidney
function
• Teeth and
bones
• Cardiovascular
System
• Brain function
Sunlight in this
century can be like a double-edged knife, adverse effects, and positive
effects, but as long as everything is done by the dose and not excessive, then
it will be considered safe enough.
